If you are looking for a quiet place to read, write and reflect, visit our community hub: the Writers Victoria library.

Our library is located on the third floor of The Wheeler Centre, right next to our office. The library is open between 10am and 4pm on weekdays (excludes public holidays).

Journals

Want to submit your writing to literary journals but don’t know where to start? Our comprehensive range will help you target appropriate publications, while keeping up to date with the literary scene. Enjoy ‘Meanjin’, ‘GRANTA’, ‘Overland’ and the ‘Australian Book Review’, among others.

Professional writing guides

Learn more about plot, characterisation and genre. Members have access to more than two hundred books written for professionals and beginners that address aspects of the craft of writing including ‘Writing Your Life’ by Patricia Charpentier.

Novels, Biography, Poetry and Plays

Settle into a comfy chair and tuck into some prize-winning fiction, non-fiction and more. There’s even a whole bookshelf of books written by Writers Victoria members.

Reference books

We have a range of industry reference books available to read on site.
