Writers Victoria offers a range of professional writing courses for business and government clients.

Our cost-effective, half- and one-day training courses can be delivered in your own venue at a time that suits you. You can also send some of your team members to one of our open workshops. Or, for tailored feedback and mentoring for a member of your team, look into our coaching packages.

Open workshops

We also host a number of open-access workshops in our inner-Melbourne training room. These half-day refresher sessions allow you to book for one or more members of your team (or for yourself).

There are no open workshops currently scheduled. We will update this page when more are announced.


Perhaps you’re unable to visit Central Melbourne for one of our workshops, or perhaps you’d prefer an hour of online professional development instead of a half-day training session. Our Business Writing webinars let you hone your skills from home or the office. All webinars are also recorded so that you can view them for a month afterwards.

In-house coaching packages

Writers Victoria also offers one-on-one coaching for staff members within an organisation. This is a more intensive approach to Business Writing training, combining editing and mentoring in meetings customised to the staff member’s needs.

The hours in a package can be dedicated to one person or spread across several employees – for example, if you purchase a 5-hour package, that could pay for 5x 1-hour coaching sessions with 5 different staff members.

Initial Coaching package

5 hours of coaching with a Business Writing tutor of your choice. The sessions:

  • can take place at your office, at Writers Victoria, by phone, or by Zoom
  • are a form of mentoring designed for one or two people
  • are a mix of document feedback and face-to-face meetings, tailored to your needs.

Advanced Coaching package

10 hours of editing and coaching with a Business Writing tutor of your choice.

  • are a form of mentoring designed for one or two people
  • are a mix of document feedback and face-to-face meetings, tailored to your needs
  • save you money with a lower hourly rate.

Conference speakers

Looking for someone to speak or run a seminar at your conference or event? Writers Victoria can set you up with an industry expert. One of our Business Writing facilitators can deliver a condensed version of an existing course, or speak on a topic of your choosing.
