Hasib Hourani

Hasib is a writer, editor, and educator. His work has appeared in Meanjin, Overland, Australian Poetry and Going Down Swinging, among others. Sensitive to the intricacies of finding home, culture and community, Hasib’s writing and editing practice is especially concerned with nuanced and culturally responsible approaches to writing the diaspora and queer identity. Across various genres, Hasib’s work takes on the disruption of time and language, using this fragmentation to tell narratives as we remember them rather than how they technically may occur. Hasib has worked as an editor for a number of Australia’s literary journals such as The Lifted Brow, Voiceworks, Debris Magazine and The Sunday Paper.
