Working on a novel, memoir or long-format creative non-fiction piece? Want to join a writers’ group to workshop your writing in a supportive, encouraging atmosphere?
Dmetri Kakmi, the facilitator of the group, is an industry professional with more than 30 years’ experience in various aspects of publishing—editing, mentoring, teaching and writing. For 15 years he worked as a senior editor at Penguin Books. His fictionalised memoir Mother Land was shortlisted for the NSW Premiers’ Literary Awards and his new book The Door and other Uncanny Tales will be released in 2020.
The writers’ group consists of 5 individuals and we are looking for 3 more to join us for 2020. Meetings once a month (CBD location and dates to be determined), between 6-8 PM, and there is an annual fee of $1,000.00.
