It is a cause for celebration. Sisters in Crime Australia’s 30th Scarlet Stiletto Awards for best short stories will be launched by Dr Angela Savage at the Melbourne Athenaeum Library on Friday 2 June, 5.30 for 6 pm.

The event will include dramatic readings of the last two winning ‘body in the library’ stories sponsored by the Melbourne Athenaeum Library – “The Surrogate,” Jem Tyley-Moore’s winning story from 2022 (read by Susanna Lobez) and “Death’s Waiting Room,” the winning story from 2021 (read by Leigh Redhead, crime writer, noir scholar and femme fatale).
