Writers Victoria Subscriberthon 2026 Competition Terms and Conditions 

These terms and conditions apply to the Writers Victoria Subscriberthon 2026 competition. By entering, entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. 

1. Promoter 

The promoter is Writers Victoria Inc, ABN 18 268 487 576, ASN A0019533Z, Level 3, The Wheeler Centre, 176 Little Lonsdale Street, Melbourne VIC 3000 (“Writers Victoria”). 

2. Eligibility 

1. Entry is open to individuals and groups who become a Writers Victoria member, renew an existing membership or extend a current membership during the promotional period. 

2. Employees, contractors, board members and immediate family members of Writers Victoria, and any organisations directly involved in administering the competition, are not eligible to enter. 

3. Entrants must provide accurate contact details and comply with Writers Victoria’s membership requirements. 

3. Promotional Period 

The promotion opens on 12 October 2026 and closes at 11:59 pm AEDT on 30 October 2026. Entries received outside this period will not be eligible. 

4. How to Enter 

1. Eligible entrants will be automatically entered when they join Writers Victoria, renew their membership or extend their membership during the promotional period. 

2. No separate entry form is required. 

3. Each eligible membership transaction will receive one entry unless Writers Victoria states otherwise in writing. 

4. Entries are not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash. 
   

5. Prizes 

1. The total prize pool includes prize packages, book packs and experiences, provided with the support of competition sponsors and partners. 

2. Prize details, including prize descriptions and individual prize package values, are as published on the Subscriberthon 2026 webpage. 

3. Prizes are subject to availability and any conditions imposed by the relevant prize supplier. 

4. If a prize becomes unavailable for any reason, Writers Victoria may substitute a prize of equal or greater value where permitted by law. 

5. Unless expressly stated, any costs associated with accepting or using a prize are the responsibility of the winner. 
   

6. Prize Draw and Winner Selection 

1. The prize draw will be conducted by Writers Victoria after the close of the promotional period at Level 3, The Wheeler Centre, 176 Little Lonsdale Street, Melbourne VIC 3000. 

2. Winners will be selected at random from all eligible entries. 

3. Writers Victoria’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. 
   

7. Winner Notification and Claiming Prizes 

1. Winners will be notified using the contact details associated with their Writers Victoria membership within 5 days from the end of the promotional period. 

2. Winners must respond within 10 days. If a winner cannot be contacted, does not respond, is ineligible or cannot accept the prize, Writers Victoria may redraw or reallocate the prize. 

3. Writers Victoria may publish winners’ names (first name, last name initial and location only) for promotional and transparency purposes, subject to applicable privacy laws. 

8. Privacy 

Writers Victoria will collect, use and disclose entrants’ personal information for the purpose of administering the competition, managing memberships, contacting winners and promoting the competition, and further marketing and promotional materials of interest and in line with their membership. Personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws and Writers Victoria’s privacy practices. 

9. Liability 

1. To the extent permitted by law, Writers Victoria is not responsible for any loss, damage, injury, delay, technical issue or other problem arising in connection with the competition or a prize. 

2. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation. 

10. General Conditions 

1. Writers Victoria may verify the validity of entries and disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, submits false information or breaches these terms and conditions. 

2. If the competition is interfered with or cannot be conducted as planned for any reason beyond Writers Victoria’s reasonable control, Writers Victoria may modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the competition where permitted by law. 

3. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
