Submissions are open for the first edition of new poetry journal The Borough.
Entitled ‘Tilbury Town’ – after Edwin Arlington Robinson’s fictitious New England village – this first issue seeks poems that are:
- Narrative
- Pithy and punchy
- Third person
- Tragic/domestic subject matter
- Phegmatic, ironic tone
- Ambiguous little lacunae
- Periphrastic delicacy verging on awkwardness
- Formally accomplished
- Made-up people and places, possibly with funny names, in a recognsable, real-world locale
Submissions close 31 August, 5pm [AEST].
