Andrea Rowe‘s picture book, Amid the Sand Dunes (Hardie Grant) – illustrated by Hannah Sommerville – has been announced as a 2025 Notable Children’s Book Council of Australia.
Angie Cui‘s debut picture book My Mum is a Bird (UQP) – illustrated by Evie Barrow – will be released 1 April. There will be a special Storytime event at Readings Kids 13 April 10:30am.
CM Pickard‘s poem ‘ANZAC’ was shortlisted in The Letter Review Prize for Poetry (July-Sept 2024).
Elle McFadzean‘s debut book, middle-grade fantasy novel The Potion Experiment, is out now!
Eugen Bacon has two books shortlisted in the 2024 Foreword INDIES Book of the Year Awards: Afro-Centered Futurisms in Our Speculative Fiction (ed) by in the History category, and A Place Between Waking and Forgetting in both the Short Stories and Multicultural categories.
Karys McEwen‘s second middle grade novel, The Paperbark Tree Committee (Text Publishing), will be published on 1 April and launched at The Kids’ Bookshop on 5 April.
The anniversary edition of Koraly Dimitriadis‘ best-selling poetry book Love and Fck Poems was longlisted for the Poetry Book Awards (UK). Her poetry film Yiayia mou (my grandmother), currently streaming on SBS, received a bronze medal in screenwriting at WRPN.tv Women’s International Film Festival (USA), and was shortlisted for the Woollahra Digital Literature Prize.
Lella Cariddi OAM recently shared her short form memoir ‘While Our Mother Waited’ as part of CO.AS.IT’s forthcoming exhibition Memories That Make Us: Home Is a Distant Shore which opened in March.
Louisa Prince‘s flash fiction story ‘Memories Buried in the Hourglass‘ was published by CafeLit Magazine.
Michael Potter won First Prize in the 2025 Flinders Fringe Festival’s Poets Corner Poetry Slam (Senior Section).

The North American edition of Detachable Penis (WLU Press) by Sam Elkin has been shortlisted for the 2024 North American Foreword INDIES Book of the Year Awards in the LGBTQ+ non-fiction category.
Yvonne Fein has had two short stories published recently: ‘Unreliable Chronicles‘ published by Persimmon Tree magazine, and ‘SuperJewel‘ published by Crow & Cross Keys literary journal.
