Glenfern

One of our Glenfern writers-in-residence, Linda McLaren, was so inspired by her writing studio and the atmosphere of the writers' house that she wrote us a little poem about it...

"There are places, special places.

We look for them, as people, as writers. I like to call them magic. Perhaps, it is just the peace, the uninterrupted time. Perhaps, it is the sense of those that have come before us who once sat where we now sit. A reflection of what has been and what is yet to be.

*There’s promise, exploration, a time to connect with others journeys alongside our own. *

It becomes, inspiration. It is, magic.

There is no other space I have found that has allowed for so much in my work, and at the end of each day coming down the stairs that speak, I whisper one thing.

Thank you."
