“Make your audience the world,” says WV tutor, poet and writer Maxine Beneba Clarke…

Maxine is a slam poetry champion and author of the poetry collections Gil Scott Heron is on Parole and Nothing Here Needs Fixing.

Her spoken word poetry has been delivered on stages and airways, and in festivals across the country. Maxine’s debut short story collection, Foreign Soil, won the 2013 Victorian Premier’s Award for an Unpublished Manuscript and will be published by Hachette Australia in 2014.

Update: Maxine will be running a Short Story Bootcamp at Writers Victoria in March 2017.
