This session covers issues including the importance of listening and observing, avoiding stereotypes, considering point of view and thinking of places as they were before colonisation, peeling back layers. Clarke offers writing exercises on listening, touching, smelling and tasting and encourages writers to take into account music, family ties, language and cultural expectations.
