Laura Elizabeth Woollett is the author of a short story collection, The Love of a Bad Man (2016), and three novels, Beautiful Revolutionary (2018), The Newcomer (2021), and West Girls (forthcoming 2023). The Love of a Bad Man was shortlisted for the 2017 Victorian Premier’s Award for Fiction and the Ned Kelly Award for Best First Fiction. Beautiful Revolutionary was shortlisted for the 2019 Prime Minister’s Literary Award for Fiction and the ALS Gold Medal. Laura has been the recipient of several fellowships and residencies, including a 2017 Asialink Arts Residency, the City of Melbourne 2020 Boyd Garret Residency, and a 2020-22 Marten Bequest Scholarship for Prose. She currently works as a bookseller at Hill of Content in Melbourne.
