As writers, we spend a lot of time looking at our screens and our notebooks. But writing is as much about the world outside the page as the words we scrawl on it. Great writing doesn’t happen in a vacuum – we need to look outwards to invigorate our imaginations, question our assumptions and become better writers.

Our 2018 program, Looking Out, Looking In, is about drawing inspiration from the wider world. It’s about connecting with others, creating memorable characters and crafting gripping narratives. There are activities for writers at all stages – we’ve got workshops and activities for short-storytellers, novelists, screenwriters, advocates, memoirists, poets, and more.
