Start and finish a new short play in 48 hours with acclaimed playwright Hilary Bell.

Whether you’re an experienced or emerging writer, this two-day course is for anyone who wants to write a short play. Through exercises, games and workshopping, established playwright Hilary Bell will discuss the elements of drama as they pertain to each writer’s individual project.  

Understand how plays works and use the elements of drama to create a short play or a scene that you can then expand. 

This workshop will refresh your practice and give all participants a creative boost.

About the Tutor

Hilary Bell is a multi-award-winning playwright and lyricist. Her work has been produced around the country, and internationally by theatres including Atlantic and Steppenwolf (USA) and the National (UK). She was the 2003-04 Tennessee Williams Fellow in Creative Writing at the University of the South, Tennessee, and the 2012 Patrick White Playwriting Fellow at the STC. Hilary is a graduate of the Juilliard Playwrights’ Studio, NIDA and AFTRS, and a founding member of 7-ON Playwrights.
