This writing course helps participants unpack some of the key writing tools and development techniques required to connect with a young readership. With a focus on writing for teens, the workshop will explore characteristics and traits associated with age-specific texts and the art of good narrative storytelling. This is a hands-on workshop that encourages participants to share or work on their own writing projects as part of the collaborative experience.

About the Tutor

Cath Moore is an award-winning writer, story developer, filmmaker and academic. She has written for children’s television and her most recent short documentary for children can be seen on ABC TV (The Pen Licence). Her latest short film Sister Song was selected for the 2022 L.A International Children’s Film Festival. Her debut novel Metal Fish, Falling Snow won the 2021 Prime Minister’s Literary Award, Victorian Premier’s Literary Award and Qld Premier’s Literary Award for YA fiction.
