Get techniques, experiences and advice for writing poetry for performance, create new poetry and get it ready for performance on the stage.Details
Each participant will create two new poems in response to artworks/poems or places, edit them and then read them to the other participants. With new poems in hand, participants will run through a theatre exercise designed to get them thinking about the stage, space and physicalising poetry.

- to write in passion and edit in cold blood
- to think of poems in light of performance and physicality
- to rehearse poems for the stage.

About Omar Musa
Omar Musa is a Malaysian-Australian author, rapper and poet from Queanbeyan, Australia. His debut novel 'Here Come the Dogs' was long-listed for the International Dublin Literary Award and the Miles Franklin Award. He was named one of the Sydney Morning Herald’s Young Novelists of the Year in 2015.
Omar will also be teaching Writers on Wednesday: Poetry and Power on Wednesday 25 October.
