Whether you need physical copies for speaking gigs, school visits or the excitement of seeing your work in print, learn more about the book-publishing process and the steps you need to take to cheaply produce print copies of your work and register them for worldwide distribution.

  • why authors are trading traditional publishing for Print On Demand and other avenues
  • the components needed to create a print book including the purchasing of ISBNs, how to find an editor, and create a book cover
  • how to create your own PDF print on demand files via Pressbooks
  • how to upload your files to Print on Demand printing company Ingram Sparks
  • the avenues for getting your print books out into the world and online stores.

This workshop develops employment-related skills.

Emily Craven is the CEO and editor of Story City, a social publishing enterprise and interactive choose your adventure app. She mentors local writers in creating digital experiences in cities across Australia. Emily is also a YA fiction author of ‘The Grand Adventures of Madeline Cain’ series. Previously digital producer for Queensland Writers Centre, Emily blogs prolifically about ebooks, publishing and digital storytelling.
