ONLINE SEMINAR: Evening Appetiser: Writing With Your Kids

Summary:
Reading and writing are the fundamental building blocks of literacy. You cannot have one without the other. Writers know the more you read, the better writer you will be, and vice versa. Same for your kids. Reading with children at home has been shown to produce better literacy outcomes, as well as improving social skills and creative thinking. Lots of people do handwriting and spelling homework with their kids, but don’t necessarily create texts. It’s easy and fun, a great activity for those rainy days in the school holidays when your child says “I’m bored!”Details
This workshop will take place online. Detailed instructions for participation will be provided.
You will learn:
- How to engage your child in writing at any age
- How to use prompts to generate writing ideas
- How to innovate on a text
- How to co-construct a story
- How to have fun with writing!
