Writers on Wednesdays – Working the Slush Pile
Date:
With:
Marie Alafaci
Rating:
ALL
Summary:
The slush pile is talked about a lot in writerly circles, mostly about how to beat it, avoid it or stand out in it. Sadly, not much of this discourse is useful. Unpack what publishers want to see in submissions and how to make sure yours works for you. And find out why you shouldn’t submit your tennis manuscript to a publisher on flocked, fluorescent-yellow paper in the shape of a tennis ball.Details
You will learn
- what publishers look for in submissions
- about making your submission crystal clear and irresistible
- how to make it easy for publishers to evaluate your work.
