Emerging writers are sometimes so busy 'emerging' they don’t know about the opportunities that can help kickstart projects and careers. When you do start looking at what’s out there, it can seem overwhelming or intimidating. This webinar will outline some of the opportunities available to Victorian writers, with a focus on emerging disabled writers. Jess Walton will explore grants, fellowships and competitions, including when to apply. These will include opportunities aimed specifically at disabled writers, such as the unique and important Write-ability Fellowship program from Writers Victoria, as well as opportunities aimed at all Victorian writers.

This free webinar is part of the Write-ability Goes Regional and Online program for writers with disability, but it is open to all.

You will learn

  • which grants, fellowships and competitions are available to emerging writers with disability in Victoria, and when to apply
  • about the Write-ability Fellowship program from Writers Victoria
  • about publications that are specifically seeking work from writers with disability
  • which other spaces and resources are available to writers with disability, including where to find other writers with disability on social media
