Emerging
Get techniques, experiences and advice for writing poetry for performance, create new poetry and get it ready for performance on the stage.

Each participant will create two new poems in response to artworks/poems or places, edit them and then read them to the other participants. With new poems in hand, participants will run through a theatre exercise designed to get them thinking about the stage, space and physicalising poetry.

You will learn

  • to get the pen moving
  • to deal with writers block
  • to write in passion and edit in cold blood
  • to think of poems in light of performance and physicality
  • to rehearse poems for the stage.

Omar shared his thoughts with us in a Q&A. You can read it on this website.
