A portrait of Angela Meyer
22 May 2021 - 10:00 to 4:00 PM
Angela Meyer
Learning to edit your own work is an essential step in becoming a great writer. This course will help you understand how (and when) to edit your own work, and what to look out for – on both a ‘big picture’ level and at the line and sentence level. After this course, you will know how to make your work the best it can be before sharing it with others or sending it out into the world.

You will learn:

  • How to structural edit your own work

  • How to line edit your own work

  • How to copyedit your own work

  • How to know what your work may be missing

  • How to read your own work with some critical distance

Participants should be prepared to talk about a work-in-progress. It would also be helpful if they’ve read Emma Viskic’s Resurrection Bay (widely available) as I use many examples from this text.
