Every story begins with a first draft. This is where you find your story’s pieces. This Beginners Short Story Clinic is a constructive and supportive environment that will help you identify the strengths and weaknesses of your story and provide direction for your next draft.

Stories of up to 1,500 words due midnight Wednesdays 3 August, 7 September, 5 October, 2 November and 7 December.
You will need to know how to attach a Word document to an email, and how to download a Word document from an email, to participate in this course.

About Demet Divaroren
Demet Divaroren is a Melbourne-based writer, editor and creative writing teacher. Her writing has appeared in ‘Griffith REVIEW’, ‘Island’ magazine, ‘The Age Epicure’, ‘The Big Issue’ and ‘From the Outer’. She is the co-editor of the ‘Coming of Age: Growing up Muslim in Australia’ anthology which was shortlisted for CBCA’s Book of the Year award. Her first novel ‘Living on Hope’ will be published in 2017.
