Determining point-of-view can establish your narrative, tie it to one character, and help develop the emotional resonance of your characters. It can also be a fantastic tool for laying the foundation for twists, red herrings, and big reveals. This workshop will explore points-of-view that are a little unusual, a little unreliable, and very unexpected to help build surprise and suspense into your story.

You will learn:

  • Traditional points-of-view and how to subvert them
  • What makes a narrator unreliable
  • The situations that work with unreliable narrators – and those that don’t
  • How to build unreliable narrators into a story
  •  Other points-of-view that can spice up a narrative
