Anne Gracie
Early, Emerging
Story ideas can come fairly easily to a writer, but turning those ideas into a workable novel is a whole other process. A story is the idea, the plot is the sequence of events (and characters) you construct to give life to that story. Theme underpins both story and plot and gives meaning to the novel. It's a big part of what makes a novel resonate with a reader long after they have finished reading.

This workshop will be Auslan interpreted.

You will learn:

  • The difference between story, plot and theme
  • How story, plot and theme interact — or not
  • Some ways of structuring and strengthening a novel
  • About some different plotting methods (because every writer is different)
  • About the important elements essential in creating a publishable novel
