Come and celebrate the 30th anniversary of Writers Victoria in 2019. We’re inviting readers, writers and supporters to celebrate our milestone at the Glen Eira Storytelling Festival with a line-up of stellar authors, sharing some of the writing that lifts us up, makes us think, changes our world and brings us home. Don’t miss our writerly 30th birthday party.

Christos Tsiolkas is the author of five novels: Loaded, The Jesus Man, Dead Europe, The Slap, and Barracuda. He has won the Age Fiction Prize, the Melbourne Best Writing Award, Overall Best Book in the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize, and the Australian Literary Society Gold Medal, and has been shortlisted for the Miles Franklin Literary Award and longlisted for the Man Booker Prize.

Bram Presser is a semi-reformed punk rocker, recovering academic, occasional criminal lawyer and two-time cartoon character. His debut novel, The Book of Dirt (Text Publishing 2017), was published in Australia to wide acclaim and went on to win the NSW Premier’s Literary Award for Fiction, Best New Writer and People’s Choice Award in 2018, as well as the Voss Literary Prize.

Enza Gandolfo is a Melbourne writer and the author of two novels, Swimming — shortlisted for the Barbara Jefferis Prize, and The Bridge — shortlisted for the Stella Prize 2019. She is also the co-author of two non-fiction books.

Jamie Marina Lau is a Melbourne writer and musician. Her debut novel, Pink Mountain on Locust Island (Brow Books 2018) has been shortlisted for the Readings Prize for New Australian Fiction, the Stella Prize 2019, the 2019 NSW Premier’s Literary Awards and for the 2019 Australian Literature Society Gold Medal.
