Thanks to a recent donation, two women of colour or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women based in Victoria will receive paid commissions for new pieces of work to be published in The Victorian Writer magazine (to the value of $200 per person).
Submissions must align with one of our upcoming themes, which are:
- February–March: Love Writing (write a love letter to writing, why do you love writing?, has writing broken your heart? etc)
- April–May: Collaboration (writers doing it together, your experiences good and bad)
To apply, you can submit short stories, poems, creative non-fiction or non-fiction works up to 2,000 words. 150-word non-fiction pitches will also be considered.
To submit your application, please email Emma by 10am on Tue 12 December. Your submission should include:
- A 50-word bio.
- A short statement about the piece.
- Your piece in full or pitch (full pieces are preferred).
