The Copyright Agency’s Cultural Fund in partnership with the UTS Creative Writing Program is pleased to announce that applications are open for the Copyright Agency-UTS New Writer’s Fellowship.
Australian writers are now invited to apply for this residency for 2022. It is well known that completing a second or third book is often difficult. To qualify as a ‘new’ writer, you will have published one or two book-length works of fiction, poetry, or non-fiction with a commercial publisher since 2017. You are also required to have a contract or letter of interest from a publisher for your second or third book.
The writer-in-residence will be required to be available two (2) days a week, from March to December, and be available for consultation with Creative Writing students and participate in other activities relating to the Creative Writing Program. If the writer is local, they will be provided with an office. However, there is also the possibility of working remotely.
The successful writer will also be required to promote the position of Copyright Agency-UTS New Writer-in-Residence and the UTS Creative Writing program.
