On Tuesday 11 October, Writers Victoria will host The Short … a curated evening of short fiction, non-fiction, poetry, extracts … all stand alone pieces no longer than four minutes. Come hear writers at all stages read short pieces that intrigue and entice.
How to apply
To apply to be one of the readers on the night, email the event’s curator with your three-four minute piece and a little bit about yourself as a writer, any public performance experience (though don’t worry if this is your first time reading in public) and a bit about what inspired you to write the piece.
Curator Logan Ramsay, a practicing poet, will select the writers and their pieces to put together a great night of exciting writing. Email Logan by Sunday 25 September for your chance to read.
Does it matter if the piece has been published or performed at a previous event? No.
Does the piece have to be a stand alone work of no more than four minutes? Yes.
Can it be shorter than four minutes? Yes.
