Moreland Short Story Competition

Writers of all ages are welcome to enter Moreland City Libraries’ Other Worlds 2019 Short story competition.

The Moreland City Libraries short story competition promises to be something different this year with entrants invited to write or recite a story in response to either of the two artworks below.

This means that entrants will be able to submit their story in written in 550 words (or less) OR as an audio file, recited in 5 minutes (or less).

Entries are requested for the following four categories:

  • Up to 8yrs old
  • 9-12yrs old
  • 13-17yrs old
  • Adult

There are some great prizes to be won:

Up to 8 years old: Winner: Sphero SPRK+ robot; achievement award: $50 book voucher

9 to 12 years old: Winner: Sphero SPRK+ robot; achievement award: $50 book voucher 

13 to 17 years old: Winner: $200 JB Hi-Fi voucher; achievement award: $50 book voucher                      

Adult: Winner: 1 year Membership to Writers’ Victoria + $100 book voucher; achievement award: $100 book voucher
