Online Workshop: Compelling Characters in Short Fiction
Summary:Failures, sorrows, regrets, stupidities, wasted dreams, personality weaknesses and the dark sides of our being, which we always hide under beautiful and acceptable masks, are the raw materials of our fictional characters. In this short course, Shokoofeh Azar will show you how to pull your fictional characters out of the dark half of your being and let them breathe.
This seminar will take place online. Detailed instructions for participation will be provided.
You Will Learn:
- to refer inside of yourself to write the story, not outside
- not to be afraid or deny your dark side
- to turn the failures of your life into strong fictional characters
- that in the real world, there is no flat character, and it is the writer's view that makes the characters dynamic or flat
- to look at people as a fictional character
