Dmetri Kakmi is a writing tutor and freelance editor. He has more than thirty years’ experience in various aspects of educational and commercial publishing. For fifteen years he worked as a senior editor at Penguin Books, specialising in children’s and young adult fiction and picture books. He also worked on travel, fantasy, science fiction, crime, memoir, film, educational texts, medical and biography. He has a special affinity for fashion, archaeology, and the supernatural.
Dmetri is also a published writer. His fictionalised memoir 'Mother Land' was shortlisted for the NSW Premier’s Literary Awards and has been published in Europe. His new book ‘The Door and Other Uncanny Tales’ will be released in May 2020. His essays and short stories appear in anthologies.
