COVID-19 Information

Updated April 2022.

We are so excited to be able to welcome you back to in-person courses and events. We follow all government guidance for COVID safety, and have also introduced additional methods to keep everyone safe. Please check back on this page close to your event, as we will keep it updated with the latest protocols.

Face masks

Under current guidelines, masks are no longer required in many indoor settings. However, Writers Victoria recommends visitors and participants wear masks where social distancing is not possible.

Feeling unwell, tested positive for COVID-19 or have a close contact?

While Government requirements to isolate lifted in October 2022, our building retains a five-day isolation requirement for those who test positive for COVID-19. This includes our team, artists, and any participants in our program. If you do test positive to COVID-19, we ask that you stay away for five days and until you have no symptoms.

Please also stay home if you have any COVID-19 symptoms, including a sore throat, dry cough or a fever. If you are a close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, please also do not attend. Please contact [email protected] and we can arrange a refund.

Entry Requirements

As of 11.59pm on Friday 22 April 2022, Victorian Government public health orders no longer require visitors to check in using the Services Victoria app when entering venues. We strongly encourage that all visitors and participants are vaccinated against COVID-19.

Hygiene

We have hand sanitiser readily available at all our courses and events.

Ventilation

The workshop space where we run our courses has a portable air purifier with HEPA filter.

Kitchen facilities

Unfortunately we can no longer provide kitchen access for participants, including the fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. Please also bring your own water and drinking vessel.

Visiting the office

We are open by appointment only. If your query can be dealt with over the phone or via email, we would strongly encourage you to contact us that way. If you do need to visit us in person, please make an appointment. Our team works flexibly and often remotely, so an appointment means the right person will be available to help you. Find out how to contact them here.

Online Events

If you would rather join us remotely, we will continue to host at least 50% of our course program online, and provide other remote options where possible.
