Cells for Writers

O Henry used the time to write short stories. The concept of it inspired Lord Byron to write one of his most famous poems. Dostoevsky’s experience shaped his perceptions on life and his later literary works. Now Writers Victoria wants you to emulate these illustrious writers and go to jail.

Gaol

Our Cells for Writers program offers the unique opportunity to work in studios at Old Melbourne Gaol, right in the heart of Melbourne CBD.
