Writers' studios
Writing studios currently available for rent and residency with Writers Victoria include:
- Glenfern Writers' Studios provide nine studio spaces for writers in the peaceful environs of Glenfern, a Victorian Gothic mansion in St Kilda East. The studios are a joint initiative of the National Trust of Australia (VIC) and Writers Victoria. The studios are available at low rates for periods of 1–6 months, with the possibility to negotiate an extension to 12 months. Fellowships are available to help pay for the cost of a studio. Glenfern, East St Kilda
Rosebank Retreat
Rosebank Retreat is currently available for one, two or three week stays in May. Set on 77 acres in the Macedon Ranges, this two-bedroom fully-furnished stone cottage offers writers the time and space to work in solitude. More info here.
Writers in Cells provide a secluded, dedicated and private space to write in the CBD. In partnership with the National Trust (Victoria), Writers Victoria is offering two uniquely situated day time studios at generously subsidised rates. The studios are, in fact, converted cells in the historic Old Melbourne Gaol at the top end of Russell Street.
