For all writers of historical fiction - including those who like to write in a bit of a twist! Writing fiction often begins with a single shining idea. Writing historical fiction is about setting that idea in a time and place that has existed and been recorded. This workshop will explore the techniques, tricks, ideas and pitfalls of bringing history into a narrative in a way that enhances rather than swamps.

About Sulari Gentill

A reformed lawyer, Sulari Gentill is the internationally published, award-winning author of the ‘Rowland Sinclair Mysteries’, nine historical crime novels (thus far) chronicling the life and adventures of her 1930s Australian gentleman artist, the ‘Hero Trilogy’, based on the myths and epics of the ancient world, and ‘Crossing the Lines’, a standalone metafiction which won the 2018 Ned Kelly Award for best crime novel.  Sulari remains hopelessly in love with the art of writing.
