The Wheeler Centre

The Wheeler Centre: Books, Writing, Ideas is an initiative of the Victorian Government.

Writers Victoria moved into the Wheeler Centre building in October 2009. The building is a hub for writing and literary organisations including:

The Wheeler Centre organisation is housed in the Wheeler Centre building, in the State Library of Victoria, with street frontage along Little Lonsdale St. The facilities currently include meeting rooms, open-plan work areas, workshop spaces, a public presentation space for up to 200 people and public access to Writers Victoria and Australian Poetry library collections. Located in the basement of the Wheeler Centre, The Moat bar and cafe is the perfect place to meet friends and enjoy delicious food and drinks before or after an event.
